Pike, a first-time candidate and registered Republican, owns Ferndale Laundry and is a detective with the Whatcom County Sheriff’s Office. Prior to joining the sheriff’s office, he served with the Ferndale Police Department and the Lummi Nation Police Department. He spent 23 years in the U.S. Army, including four years of active duty, and currently serves in the Washington Army National Guard.

Pike emphasized the high cost of living and the need for practical solutions in policy. He said in his campaign announcement that he talks with people every day who are “doing everything right, and still feel like they’re falling behind.”
